Over the weekend, Clinton Shepherd, Operations manager at Chicago Navy Pier, shattered the previous world record (30 hours and 36 seconds) for the "longest marathon on a fairground/theme park attraction" by riding the Navy Pier Ferris Wheel for 48 hours, 8 minutes, and 25 seconds (You'd have to purchase 384 tickets to do that on your own!)

His attempt was in honor of the Armed Forces and was capped off with a spectacular fireworks display over Lake Michigan.

The pier "tricked-out" his Gandola with curtains, pillows, a flat screen tv and even a chandelier!

Clinton could not sleep at all during the attempt and only got 5 minutes every hour for a bathroom break.

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Wet 'n' Wild Las Vegas is in the final stages of construction and has announced additional details regarding park operating hours, season passes and information on other services being offered.

Gold Pass and Season Pass holders will be among the first to try the more than 25 slides and attractions at the new water
park beginning Memorial Day Weekend.

Operating Hours and Dates:

"We're excited to welcome our Gold Pass and Season Pass holders with special days starting Memorial Day Weekend to be among the first to enjoy all our slides and attractions," said Takuya Ohki, water park general manager.

Single day admission tickets that can be used beginning June 3 will go on sale soon on the park's website. Pre-season
discounts on the Season Pass and Gold Pass will end on June 2 with regular Season Pass and Gold Pass pricing beginning on June 3.

Details on the park services, such as cabana, locker and tube rentals, and more group event information has been added to the park website .

Wet 'n' Wild Las Vegas is located at 7055 South Fort Apache Road.

RiverRush opens to the public on Saturday. It's the first of its kind at Dollywood Splash Country and in Tennessee and one of only a handful in the country.

Dollywood gave 10News a sneak peak behind the scenes of the ride. The ride uses magnets to push the four person boat through the twisting tubes.

Wes Ramey of Dollywood said, "RiverRush is completely different. You can't get anything like this anywhere nearby. It's the only one in Tennessee, it's the first one. It's just like a roller coaster mixed with water. So, you can't go wrong with that. RiverRush truly is a rush so everyone will love to come out and try this ride."

Dollywood Splash Country opens for the 2013 season on Saturday & Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Dolly Parton plans to be at Dollywood to unveil the new ride on Friday.
