The Knoxville News-Sentinel reports that Dolly Parton and Gaylord Entertainment CEO Colin Reed announced plans to build the year-round attraction as part of a 114-acre (46-hectare) entertainment zone adjacent to the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center. The Dollywood Company will serve as operating partner for the park, which is scheduled to open in 2014. The project qualifies for economic development grants from the state, where tourism is the second-largest industry.
