BEST UNION LEADS THE INDUSTRY ONCE MORE BY BECOMING AMONG THE FIRST TICKETING COMPANIES TO ANNOUNCE PA-DSS 3.2 CERTIFICATION
Best Union, formerly operating as OmniTicket Network, is proud to announce PA-DSS 3.2 certification for their Best Overview Solution (BOS) software. Best Union has again proven to be an industry leader by proactively pursuing and attaining the rigorous PCI Security Standards Council PA-DSS v3.2 for all credit card transaction processing component products for the BOS application.
PA-DSS (Payment Application Data Security Standard) adheres to a specific set of multi-layer requirements that must be met in order for developed software to be compliant with the safest and most current global security standards created by the PCI Security Standards Council. A forensic testing audit is performed by a PA- DSS approved independent assessor to determine how transaction data is handled, and thereby approved to develop secure payment applications that do not store prohibited data (such as full magnetic stripe, CVV2 or PIN data) and ensure their payment applications support compliance with the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). Those that are passed are added to the official list of PA-DSS-compliant applications.

A longtime client since 2004, Tweetsie Railroad recently made the decision to upgrade to Best Union’s BOS system. Tweetsie Railroad is a Wild West family oriented theme park that began as an excursion train ride pulled by a steam locomotive. Even though opening day was a chilly one in North Carolina, that didn’t stop the die-hard train riders from braving the cold to check out the upgrade. Our crew was on site at the go live, and ticket sellers confirmed that the new system seems to be doing the job nicely. “I like this system better than the old one,” sellers were heard to remark - some even commenting it was ‘prettier’ than the old system. Best Union, a global leader in the development of ticketing system technology has recently been chosen by Perlan, Iceland’s distinctive landmark attraction, to supply the Best Overview System (BOS) as their new ticketing and sales solution.
Based in Iceland’s capital, Reykjavik, Perlan (The Pearl) was originally built on 6 huge geothermal water storage towers; in 1991 the tanks were updated and a glass dome structure added. Each year thousands of visitors go to enjoy the observation deck, which gives stunning 360 degree panoramic views plus the chance to see the Northern Lights.
In the summer of 2017 Perlan will open the Glacier Exhibition inside one of the former water towers, accurately replicating an ice cave cut through a glacier section; this is the first step in the creation of an Icelandic Natural Wonders exhibition. Also in planning are an Icelandic flora and fauna exhibit plus a state of the art planetarium that will offer a domed, 360° immersive experience with surround sound and stunning image quality.

The Tennessee Aquarium has reported an amazing increase in their online ticket sales activity after their first full year using Best Union’s online solution. The Best Overview Solution (BOS) was implemented to handle ticketing and access control in January 2016, and was fully integrated with new online ticket sales pages created by Best Union’s web development team.
“Online ticket sales have now more than tripled since switching to the Best Union online ticketing solution,” said Charles Hayslett, IT Business Analyst at the Tennessee Aquarium. He credits the streamlined sales process implemented by Best Union for helping boost the conversion rate. The previous solution required many clicks and often users would give up and abandon their carts before completion.
